Agerola is known as the ‘Land of the Gods’
It is a balcony at a height of 600 m above sea level on the famous Amalfi Coast. From these dizzying heights it is easy to confuse the deep cobalt color of the sea with the boundless blue of the sky. Here the slow beat of time and the surreal dimension of the views, instill heavenly sensations in a visitors’ soul. Agerola is an open and welcoming city. It is like the embrace of a mother to those who with a childish curiosity, want to know, appreciate and love it.
Agerola is a magic pearl cast in the ‘Mons Lactarius‘ mountain range. It is crossed by 60 km of lush trails, the most famous being the Path of the Gods. The environment is stunning with particularly wide ranging sights of the landscape that alternates between deep valleys carved by streams and millennial high cliffs climbing up to 1400 m. Along the path of Agerola are boundless chestnut woods, inaccessible medieval churches and views overlooking the seas of the Amalfi coast, with magnificent views to the islands of Capri and Ischia. Many of the paths in this area will also take you close to the waters near Amalfi, Conca, Furore, Praiano and Positano.
Beautiful to behold, Agerola is especially rich in culinary traditions with a cornucopia of typical products DOP; salami, bacon, cheeses, artisan breads and tarallo of Agerola; chestnuts, the pennata pear and limoncella apple.
Agerola is a guarantee of Italian authenticity, genuineness and beauty. Excellence that manifests itself in the tale of a magical place, in the emotion of those who manage to gaze to the horizon or those who allow themselves to be inebriated by the delightful array of products from the area.
